Lecture, Zagreb, Mimara Museum, 10th February 2004
Professor Marin Begovic, PhD, an academic restoration expert and lecturer at the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology, Department of Art Restoration, University of Ljubljana, presented a lecture on the biological decomposition of paintings done in pastel and oil. His presentation also included examples of the practical application of knowledge from the fields of chemistry and biochemistry in the protection of cultural heritage. Special emphasis was placed on the application of enzymes.
About 80 participants - representatives of the Administration for the Protection of Cultural Heritage, conservation-restoration experts of the Croatian Conservation Institute and museums, students of art restoration from the Zagreb Academy of Fine Arts, etc. attended the lecture at the multimedia centre of the Mimara Museum.
