The Ludbreg Conservation Centre of the Croatian Conservation Institute began in 1994 its work on the restoration of artefacts injured in the War of Independence. The activity was extended after the Batthyány Mansion was fully renovated in 2000 through a loan from the Bavarian State Bank. The project of the Centre was initiated by Croatian conservators, with exceptional appreciation and support of the Town of Ludbreg and the backing and professional cooperation of Bavarian conservators. It was approved by the ministries of culture and finance and the Croatian Government and encompassed by the budget.

For the last 20 years, the Croatian Conservation Institute has through its Centre in Ludbreg given an exceptional contribution to the development of conservation and restoration in Croatia, due largely to the conservation of numerous artefacts from the war-stricken areas as well as northeastern Croatia, and by being a venue for relevant education programmes. By renovating the Batthyány Mansion, a fine monument of culture was rescued for the County and the Town of Ludbreg, which proved to be an exceptional contribution to the development of the town and region into cultural and tourist attractions.
The programme to mark the anniversary will take place throughout the day, with lectures, presentations and an exhibition of artefacts and posters with accompanying catalogues. A memorial plaque will be uncovered and certificates of appreciation presented to the most-deserving organizations and individuals. The programme is enclosed!
