The kick-off meeting of the EwaGlos consortiumwas held in Turkey at the Karabük Universtity on February 6th and 7th 2014. The representatives of seven institutions from different countries were present on the meeting, and among them Ivan Srša from the Croatian Conservation Institute. The structure of the dictionary was defined and the terms were divided in thematic packages which will be processed by all participants of the project until June 2014.
Together with Angela Weyer, director of the Hornemann Institute in Hildesheim, Germany, and also president of the consortium, Sophi Haake-Harig from the same Institute participated in the meeting and she is in charge for the definition of the list of preliminary terms of the glossary. Other representatives at the meeting were: Pilar Roig-Picazo from Spain (Departamento de conservación y restauración de bienes culturales - Universidad Politécnica de Valencia), Jean-Marc Vallet from France (Centre Interdisciplinaire de Conservation et Restauration du Patrimoine de Marseille), Shirley Cefai from Malta (Architecture and Urban Design - University of Malta), Daniele Pop from Romania (Facultatea de Arte Plastice - Universitatea de Artã şi Design, Cluj-Napoca), Aysun Özköse from Turkey (Architecture and Restoration, Main Science - Karabük Üniversitesi) and Ivan Srša from Croatia (Department for Wall Paintings and Mosaics – Croatian Conservation Institute).
At the meeting the structure of the future dictionary was divided in four main categories with its subcategories:

The deadline for the definition of terms, comments and processing of other data (Ambiguous term, Cross References, Select bibliographic references) is mid-June 2014. Afterwards the members of the consortium will exchange the defined terms and coordinate them completely by the end of September. After the definitions of terms are approved on the next meeting of the EwaGlos consortium they will be translated to 10 languages.
The official language of the consortium is English and terms will be first defined in English. Then they will be translated to the languages of the members of the consortium and also Italian, Hungarian and Polish. In total, the dictionary will contain the translation of 200 basic terms from the field of the wall paintings and architectonic surfaces. Two pages with an illustration are foreseen for each term and together with the introduction and the index of all terms the dictionary should have 500 pages. For the definition and the additional comment of each term 730 characters with space are foreseen.
