Rovinj, Rovinj Heritage Museum, May 2003
The exhibition presented the works of Venetian 17th century painters in Istria, which were restored in the Croatian Conservation Institute from 1995 to 2003, as part of its Conservation and restoration of 17th and 18th century paintings in Istria programme.

Largely overlooked and unknown to experts, the works of Palma il Giovane., A. Triva, P. Negri, J. Kerckhovea i L. Dorigny, bear witness to the vibrant and complex art scene of the Venetian Seicento, marked by influences of Titian, Tintoretto, Veronese, alongside numerous “outsiders” – painters from other Italian and European centres who were drawn by the great tradition and artistic vigour of La Serenissima.
Exhibited paintings are accompanied by photo documentation of conservation-restoration work, enabling a closer look into the world of each of the painters, reconstructing their visual thought and creative process.
