Jacopo Tintoretto's Painting from Korčula in the Light of Recent Discoveries



Zagreb, Zagreb City Libraries - Vrapče, April – May 2011

An exhibition on 15 boards introduced the Zagreb public to the research and conservation-restoration work carried out on Jacopo Tintoretto’s St. Mark with St. Bartholomew and St. Jerome painting from the main altar of the Cathedral in Korčula.

In several years of conservation-restoration work, the great Venetian master's composition was subject to systematic research in the Croatian Conservation Institute. Various phases of master’s work on the paining have been identified, conservation-restoration work was carried out and archival research provided an irrefutable confirmation of Tintoretto’s authorship.
