Conservation-Restoration of the Old Town of Kostajnica
Hrvatska Kostajnica, Old Town, October 2011
An exhibition was mounted for the opening ceremony of the renovated Old Town in Hrvatska Kostajnica. It presented years of conservation-restoration work and research of this monument complex.
The Old Town of Kostajnica is a medieval castle of the Zrinski noble family. It was additionally fortified by towers and defensive walls during the 16th century, in time of wars with the Ottoman Empire. Comprehensive 8-year–long conservation work on the monument began in 2003, with the project to rehabilitate and present the Old Town entirely carried out by the Croatian Conservation Institute.
